One of the most challenging things about being a military spouse is being without your husband. This necessary evil is inevitable when your husband is equally as married to the Air Force as he is to you. Whether it’s TDYs, deployments, or even just crazy work hours, every milspouse learns how to take care of themselves and their families. While it’s one of the toughest parts of this job, it can also be the most rewarding. Every spouse has had that “Damn, I did that?!” moment after a personal win, a feeling that is equally disbelief and glowing pride all at the same time. It’s that time when you mowed the lawn all by yourself. It’s that time when you had a flat tire and got your car running again. It’s that time when you had to change the batteries in the smoke detector just to get some sleep. It can even just be a long-awaited, much-deserved vacation or girls’ night out. Whether the moment had you on a high or at your lowest, you got through it and are stronger, more independent, and more empowered because of it! We have all had this awesome boss babe feeling at one time or another and we here at Kiss the Copilot, we want to celebrate that giddy feeling by launching a brand new campaign, #WhileHeWasAway.
Share a photo or post on social media that captures the moments that gave you that awesome empowered feeling and use the hashtag #WhileHeWasAway. We will repost our favorites on our Instagram or feature them on the blog itself. Our team of Co-pilots have so many moments to share with you all and we can’t wait to see what you all have to share with us! Let’s show the world how rewarding this milspouse life can be!
Here are some of our very own #WhileHeWasAway moments:
#WhileHeWasAway I had a movie night with my favorite guilty pleasures.
#WhileHeWasAway I learned how to can strawberry jam.
#WhileHeWasAway I spared this spidey’s life (the blow torch was about to be LIT) when I realized he was protecting my plants from other bugs.
